FACT - Firefighters are more commonly diagnosed with "non-typical" cancers
FACT - Cancer is the leading cause of firefighter deaths
Being firefighters, we should all be aware of the exposures we face on on the fireground that lead to cancer. I have learned a lot in the last few years and am surprised at how little we tend to know about this.
This disease is the leading cause of death among us and there’s so many things we could be doing about it, but aren’t. We need to educate and prevent.
We owe it to ourselves, our brothers, and our loved ones to take care of each other.
There is so much we can do to help reduce our exposure to the carcinogens and chemicals that cause this horrible disease. Below are links to incredible organizations that do so much to educate, fund, and support the battle both before, and after, a diagnosis.
Please take the time to click on the links below, get educated, and support these organizations.
